Kavala – North Aegean Islands

Kavala

Day One

Kavala is located 175 km east from
Thessaloniki and also has it’s own airport (Megas Alexandros) 27 kilometers
east. Our base is in the main port of the city, where you can find plenty of
shops, taverns and accommodation. You can spend your first night in our base or
you can start your sailing  by hopping to
Thasos Island (Limenas port,16nm).


Limenas

DAY TWO

Thasos capital, Limenas, is a main  port with plenty of space for alongside docking. You can visit many beautiful beaches from the North East side of Thasos (Marble, Golden beach, Makryammos ,Kinira  ) and swim in the clear water of the island, before heading to Samothraki.

 

Samothraki

DAY THREE

Samothraki is 40 nautical miles southeast of Thasos. The usual north east wind (meltemi) , makes the sailing conditions perfect. Samothraki has only one port where sailboats can dock, Kamariotissa the capital. Only 10 kilomitre from Kamariotisa is the old capital the best choise to spend the night

 

 

Limnos

DAY FOUR & FIVE

Sailing 45 nautical miles south of Samothraki, you will find Limnos. The capital and main port is Myrina, where you can find water, electricity and many shops and taverns around the port. There are also many protected beaches and bays such as Thanos beach ,Evgati beach

 

 

West Thassos

DAY SIX

After the exploration of Limnos, you have to sail back to the west side of Thasos to either Limenaria port, or Aliki bay, (52 nm). Limenaria is the newer port and the second biggest town of Thasos, where you can find water and many taverns , while Aliki  offer a quiet anchoring in crystal waters. Thassos to Kavala

DAY SEVEN

Limenaria port is 23 nautical miles away from Kavala and Aliki beach is 35 nm, so you can enjoy the morning before returning to base, swimming and sailing around the area. Suggested places for swimming are Kefalas Bay, Tripiti
